WiLlow Pond Farms Supporting Small Scale Family Farms

Since 2010

A Cut Unlike the Rest

At Willow Pond Meats, we have been supporting small family farms since 2010 because we are farmers ourselves.  We feature USDA inspected meats from our own farm here in the idyllic Catawba Valley outside of the Roanoke area in Virginia.

We value the old ways, so we seek out the simple, traditional methods used by our great grand parents.  Our philosophy is that “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it” and “flavor comes slowly.”  Using old time methods may take longer, but it is worth the wait.

100% Local, Small Family Farm Raised

FROM OUR FARM TO YOUR TABLE

Being small has it’s advantages!  While the large operators are having to cull their herds, dump their milk & eggs, we have the agility to keep our operation open to serve you!  From our farm, to your table, come the goodness of local, pasture-, and humanely raised beef, pork, and chicken.

A Wide Variety to Choose From

We continually strive to offer a wide variety of products to chose from.  From our grass-fed beef to our pasture-raised pork and chicken, we are confident that you will find something for everyone in your family.

Beef

All of our beef is raised 100% grass-fed from our closed herd on the farm.  Angus and Belted Galloway produces a highly efficient stock that performs well on a grass-fed only model.  Aged to at least 30+ months before processing, we ensure a well marbled beef that is flavorful and tender.

Pork

Our family has been raising hogs for generations.  Our original stock was the Poland-China Hog, but for our farm we have chosen the Hereford Hog, which is bred from the Poland-China.  These hogs are not your lean, pink pig.  The meat is a wonderful red color instead of the pale pink, and flavorless meat from the large operators.  Our hogs are raised on pasture year round.  We feed our hogs a traditional mix from the local Big Spring Mill in Elliston, Virginia.

Chicken

Once our chicks leave the brooder, they are given access to the green pastures behind the cattle.  Fresh, green grass and plenty of sunshine makes for a very happy, healthy bird.  We feed our broilers a traditional mix from the local Big Spring Mill in Elliston, Virginia.

Grass Fed Beef, Pastured Pork and Chicken

At Willow Pond Meats, you will never need to worry about where your meat comes from.  We raise it on our farm using traditional, old-school methods that precede the current pharma-based agriculture that abounds today.  We are small (< 20 acres), so we raise our animals in a very personal way, getting to know our animals in a way that a Confinement Feed Lot operation can never attain to.
